To him our fathers were not willing to be obedient, but thrust him aside, and turned (estraphēsan | ἐστράφησαν | aor pass ind 3 pl) in their hearts to Egypt,
Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned (strapheisa | στραφεῖσα | aor pass ptcp nom sg fem) and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni!” (which means “Teacher”).
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and turn (straphōsin | στραφῶσιν | aor pass subj 3 pl), and I would heal them.”
When Jesus turned (strapheis | στραφείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) around and saw them following him, he said to them, “What do you want?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”
Turning (strapheis | στραφείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) to them, Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
Then the Lord turned (strapheis | στραφείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) and looked at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord that he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”
Having turned (strapheis | στραφείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) to the disciples, he said to them privately, “Fortunate are the eyes that see what you see!
