If the foot should say, “Since I am not a hand, I am not part of the body,” (sōmatos | σώματος | gen sg neut) it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body (sōmatos | σώματος | gen sg neut).
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body (sōma | σῶμα | acc sg neut), whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, and we were all imbued with one Spirit.
For just as the physical body (sōma | σῶμα | nom sg neut) is one yet has many members, and all the members of the body (sōmatos | σώματος | gen sg neut), though many, are one body (sōma | σῶμα | nom sg neut), so also is the body of Christ.
Whoever, therefore, eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body (sōmatos | σώματος | gen sg neut) and blood of the Lord.
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body (sōmatos | σώματος | gen sg neut) of Christ?
But I discipline my body (sōma | σῶμα | acc sg neut) and bring it into subjection, so that having preached to others I myself should not be disqualified.
