But the ruling priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask (aitēsōntai | αἰτήσωνται | aor mid subj 3 pl) for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, and kneeling down she asked (aitousa | αἰτοῦσα | pres act ptcp nom sg fem) something from him.
“Again, I tell you the truth, if two of you on earth are in agreement about anything whatever you may ask (aitēsōntai | αἰτήσωνται | aor mid subj 3 pl), it will be done for you by my Father who is in heaven.
If then you, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask (aitousin | αἰτοῦσιν | pres act ptcp dat pl masc) him!
Or if he (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) should (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) ask (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) for (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) a fish, would give him a snake?
Or is there any man among you who, if his son should ask (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) for (aitēsei | αἰτήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) bread, would give him a stone?
For everyone who asks (aitōn | αἰτῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) receives, and everyone who seeks finds, and for everyone who knocks it will be opened.
