Up till now you have asked (ētēsate | ᾐτήσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) for nothing in my name. Ask (aiteite | αἰτεῖτε | pres act imperative 2 pl), and you will receive, that your joy may be complete.

On that day you will question me about nothing. I tell you the solemn truth: whatever you ask (aitēsēte | αἰτήσητε | aor act subj 2 pl) of the Father in my name he will give to you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that the Father may give you whatever you ask (aitēsēte | αἰτήσητε | aor act subj 2 pl) in my name.

If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask (aitēsasthe | αἰτήσασθε | aor mid imperative 2 pl) whatever you wish and it will be done for you.

If you (aitēsēte | αἰτήσητε | aor act subj 2 pl) ask (aitēsēte | αἰτήσητε | aor act subj 2 pl) me anything in my name, I will do it.

And whatever you ask (aitēsēte | αἰτήσητε | aor act subj 2 pl) in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask (aitēsē | αἰτήσῃ | aor mid subj 2 sg) of him.”

Jesus answered her, saying, “If you had known the gift of God and who it was that said to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked (ētēsas | ᾔτησας | aor act ind 2 sg) him, and he would have given you living water.”

The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, are (aiteis | αἰτεῖς | pres act ind 2 sg) asking (aiteis | αἰτεῖς | pres act ind 2 sg) for (aiteis | αἰτεῖς | pres act ind 2 sg) a drink from me, a woman from Samaria?” (For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.)
