So does the one who gives you the Spirit and works miracles among you do it by works of the law, or by hearing (akoēs | ἀκοῆς | gen sg fem) with faith?

Only this I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing (akoēs | ἀκοῆς | gen sg fem) with faith?

If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing (akoē | ἀκοή | nom sg fem) be? If the whole body were an ear (akoē | ἀκοή | nom sg fem), where would the sense of smell be?

So faith comes from hearing (akoēs | ἀκοῆς | gen sg fem) the message, and what is heard (akoē | ἀκοή | nom sg fem) comes through the word of Christ.

However, not all of them have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” (akoē | ἀκοῇ | dat sg fem)

“‘Go to this people, and say, “You will indeed hear (akoē | ἀκοῇ | dat sg fem) but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive”;

For you bring some strange things to our ears (akoas | ἀκοάς | acc pl fem), so we want to know what these things mean.”

that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed what they heard (akoē | ἀκοῇ | dat sg fem) from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

After he had finished speaking all his sayings in the ears (akoas | ἀκοάς | acc pl fem) of the people, he entered Capernaum.

And when you hear of wars and rumors (akoas | ἀκοάς | acc pl fem) of wars, do not be alarmed; those things must happen, but the end is not yet.
