As for the one who was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the message, but worldly anxiety and the deception of wealth choke the message and it becomes unfruitful (akarpos | ἄκαρπος | nom sg masc).
And the soldiers twisted some thorns (akanthōn | ἀκανθῶν | gen pl fem) into a crown and placed it on his head, and they threw a purple robe around him.
As for what fell among the thorns (akanthas | ἀκάνθας | acc pl fem) — these are the ones who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and they do not bring fruit to maturity.
Other seed fell in the middle of thorns (akanthōn | ἀκανθῶν | gen pl fem), and when the thorns (akanthai | ἄκανθαι | nom pl fem) came up with it, they choked it.
