for each tree is known by its own fruit. For they do not gather figs from thornbushes (akanthōn | ἀκανθῶν | gen pl fem), nor do they pick grapes from brambles.
Other seed fell among the thorns (akanthas | ἀκάνθας | acc pl fem), and the thorns (akanthai | ἄκανθαι | nom pl fem) came up and choked it, and it did not produce grain.
and twisting together a crown of thorns (akanthōn | ἀκανθῶν | gen pl fem), they placed it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand, and kneeling before him they mocked him, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!”
As for the one who was sown among thorns (akanthas | ἀκάνθας | acc pl fem), this is the one who hears the message, but worldly anxiety and the deception of wealth choke the message and it becomes unfruitful.
For such a high priest was appropriate for us, one who is holy, innocent (akakos | ἄκακος | nom sg masc), undefiled; having been separated from sinners, he became exalted above the heavens.
For such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the guileless (akakōn | ἀκάκων | gen pl masc).
preach the word. Be prepared when it is opportune or inopportune (akairōs | ἀκαίρως | adverb); confront, rebuke, exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
