My children, it is the last hour! And just as you heard (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) that the Antichrist would come, even now many antichrists have appeared. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
Dear friends, it is not a new commandment that I write to you, but an old commandment — one that you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the message you have already heard (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl).
Now this is the message that we have heard (akēkoamen | ἀκηκόαμεν | perf act ind 1 pl) from him and are proclaiming to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him.

For sure, we regard as blessed those who persevered. You (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) have (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) heard (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) of (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) the perseverance of Job and have seen the result of the Lord's activity, that the Lord is exceedingly compassionate and merciful.
Listen (akousate | ἀκούσατε | aor act imperative 2 pl), my dear brothers! Did not God choose those whom the world considers poor to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom, which he promised to those who love him?
