Then I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) the angel in charge of the waters say, “You are just, O Holy One, who is and who was, because you brought these judgments,
Then I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a loud voice from the temple declaring to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of God’s wrath.”
And I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes indeed!” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from their labors, because their deeds will follow them!”
And I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a sound from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The sound I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps,
Then I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a loud voice in heaven saying, “Just now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, the one who accuses them day and night before our God.
Then they heard (ēkousan | ἤκουσαν | aor act ind 3 pl) a loud voice from heaven, saying to them, “Come up here!” And they arose to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.
Then the voice that I had heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was preparing to write but I heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”
The rest of mankind, those who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands so as to give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear (akouein | ἀκούειν | pres act inf ) or walk.
