But you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd), brothers, must not become discouraged in doing what is right.

For we hear that some among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) are conducting themselves in a disorderly manner, doing nothing themselves, but meddling in the affairs of others.

For even when we were with you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), we gave you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) this charge: “If anyone is not willing to work, then he should not eat.”

not because we do not have the right, but in order to make ourselves an example for you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) to imitate.

nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. Instead we kept working night and day with toil and hardship, so we would not be a burden to any of you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd),

For you yourselves know how our example should be followed, because we did not lead disorderly lives among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd),

But we charge you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to stay away from any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly manner and not according to the tradition that they received from us.

Now may the Lord direct your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) hearts into the love of God and into the endurance of Christ.

And we are confident in the Lord regarding you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), that you are doing and will continue to do the things we require of you.

But the Lord is faithful; he will establish you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) and guard you from the evil one.
