Food does not bring us close to God. We (hysteroumetha | ὑστερούμεθα | pres pass ind 1 pl) are (hysteroumetha | ὑστερούμεθα | pres pass ind 1 pl) no worse (hysteroumetha | ὑστερούμεθα | pres pass ind 1 pl) if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
so that you do (hystereisthai | ὑστερεῖσθαι | pres pass inf ) not lack (hystereisthai | ὑστερεῖσθαι | pres pass inf ) in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
