For John came to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. And even when you saw it, you did not change your minds and believe him.
I am not saying this because I am in need (hysterēsin | ὑστέρησιν | acc sg fem), for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance I find myself.
For they all put in from their abundance, but she from her need (hysterēseōs | ὑστερήσεως | gen sg fem) has put in everything she had — all she had to live on.”
Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking (hysterēmata | ὑστερήματα | acc pl neut) in your faith.
I am now rejoicing in my sufferings on your behalf, and in my flesh am completing what is lacking (hysterēmata | ὑστερήματα | acc pl neut) in the afflictions of Christ in flesh my for the sake of his body, his which is the church,
because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for the help you were not able (hysterēma | ὑστέρημα | acc sg neut) to give me.
And when I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for when the brothers came from Macedonia they supplied my need (hysterēma | ὑστέρημα | acc sg neut).
because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs (hysterēmata | ὑστερήματα | acc pl neut) of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.
