The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton (phagos | φάγος | nom sg masc) and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is shown to be right by what she does.”
and every lofty (hypsōma | ὕψωμα | acc sg neut) idea that is raised against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obey Christ.
nor height (hypsōma | ὕψωμα | nom sg neut), nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that he (hypsōsē | ὑψώσῃ | aor act subj 3 sg) may (hypsōsē | ὑψώσῃ | aor act subj 3 sg) exalt (hypsōsē | ὑψώσῃ | aor act subj 3 sg) you in due time,
Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that you could be exalted (hypsōthēte | ὑψωθῆτε | aor pass subj 2 pl), because I proclaimed the gospel of God to you without a charge?
The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and made (hypsōsen | ὕψωσεν | aor act ind 3 sg) the people great (hypsōsen | ὕψωσεν | aor act ind 3 sg) during their stay in the land of Egypt; then with uplifted arm he led them out of it.
God exalted (hypsōsen | ὕψωσεν | aor act ind 3 sg) this Jesus to his own right hand as Leader and Savior, so as to provide repentance for Israel and the remission of sins.
So then, exalted (hypsōtheis | ὑψωθείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you are both seeing and hearing.
The crowd responded, “We have heard from the law that the Christ is to remain forever; so how is it that you are saying that the Son of Man must be lifted (hypsōthēnai | ὑψωθῆναι | aor pass inf ) up? Who is this Son of Man?”
