When the accusers stood up, they (epheron | ἔφερον | imperf act ind 3 pl) brought (epheron | ἔφερον | imperf act ind 3 pl) no charge of such evils as I was expecting,
The priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought (enenkas | ἐνέγκας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to offer sacrifice along with the crowds.
When they had passed the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate that leads (pherousan | φέρουσαν | pres act ptcp acc sg fem) into the city, which of its own accord opened for them, and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel left him.
A great number of people from the towns around Jerusalem also came, bringing (pherontes | φέροντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc) the sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and they were healed, all of them.
and kept back for himself some of the proceeds, with his wife’s knowledge, and brought (enenkas | ἐνέγκας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) only part of it and placed it at the apostles’ feet.
For there was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of land or houses sold them and brought (epheron | ἔφερον | imperf act ind 3 pl) the proceeds from what was sold
And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like a violent blast (pheromenēs | φερομένης | pres mid ptcp gen sg fem) of wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
I tell you the solemn truth, when you were young, you used to fasten on your clothes and go wherever you wanted, but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten on your clothes and take (oisei | οἴσει | fut act ind 3 sg) you where you do not want to go.”
