When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were frightened and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear (phobou | φόβου | gen sg masc).

there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and plagues. There will be dreadful (phobētra | φόβητρα | nom pl neut) portents and great signs from heaven.

And so awesome (phoberon | φοβερόν | nom sg neut) was the spectacle that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.”

It is terrifying (phoberon | φοβερόν | nom sg neut) to fall into the hands of the living God.

but only a terrifying (phobera | φοβερά | nom sg fem) expectation of judgment and of raging fire ready to consume the adversaries.

And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants and you who fear (phoboumenoi | φοβούμενοι | pres pass ptcp voc pl masc) him, small and great.”

Who will (phobēthē | φοβηθῇ | aor pass subj 3 sg) not fear (phobēthē | φοβηθῇ | aor pass subj 3 sg) you, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy, for all nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

And he said with a loud voice, “Fear (phobēthēte | φοβήθητε | aor pass imperative 2 pl) God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

The nations raged, but your wrath came; and the time for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear (phoboumenois | φοβουμένοις | pres pass ptcp dat pl masc) your name, both small and great, and the time to destroy the destroyers of the earth.”

Do (phobou | φοβοῦ | pres pass imperative 2 sg) not fear (phobou | φοβοῦ | pres pass imperative 2 sg) what you are about to suffer. The devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will have affliction for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
