And since the harbor was unsuitable to winter in, the majority made a decision to put out to sea from there, if somehow they might be able to reach Phoenix (Phoinika | Φοίνικα | acc sg masc), a harbor of Crete, facing both southwest and northwest, and spend the winter there.

After this I looked, and behold, a vast multitude that no one could count, people from every nation, tribe, cultural group, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches (phoinikes | φοίνικες | nom pl masc) in their hands,

took branches of palm (phoinikōn | φοινίκων | gen pl masc) trees and went out to meet him. They began to cry out, “Hosanna! Blessed in the name of the Lord is the coming one, even the king of Israel!”

And finding a ship bound for Phoenicia (Phoinikēn | Φοινίκην | acc sg fem), we went aboard and set sail.

So being sent on their way by the church, they went through both Phoenicia (Phoinikēn | Φοινίκην | acc sg fem) and Samaria, narrating in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers.

Now those who were scattered because of the persecution, which came to pass over Stephen, made their way as far as Phoenicia (Phoinikēs | Φοινίκης | gen sg fem) and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews only.

I commend to you our sister Phoebe (Phoibēn | Φοίβην | acc sg fem), who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea,

The merchants who became rich by selling her these things will stand at a distance weeping and mourning because they fear (phobon | φόβον | acc sg masc) her torment.

They will stand at a distance in fear (phobon | φόβον | acc sg masc) of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! O great city, Babylon the mighty city! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them and they stood on their feet; and great fear (phobos | φόβος | nom sg masc) fell on those who were watching them.
