So I ask, did they stumble so as to fall? By no means! But because of their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles so as to make Israel jealous (parazēlōsai | παραζηλῶσαι | aor act inf ).
But I ask, did Israel not understand? First of all, Moses says, “I will make you jealous (parazēlōsō | παραζηλώσω | fut act ind 1 sg) by those who are not a nation; by a nation void of understanding I will make you angry.”
But we charge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to stay away from any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly manner and not according to the tradition (paradosin | παράδοσιν | acc sg fem) that they received from us.
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions (paradoseis | παραδόσεις | acc pl fem) that you were taught, either by what we said or what we wrote.
See to it that no one takes you captive by means of philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition (paradosin | παράδοσιν | acc sg fem) of men, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age in the entire nation, being extremely zealous for the traditions of my ancestors (paradoseōn | παραδόσεων | gen pl fem).
I commend you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions (paradoseis | παραδόσεις | acc pl fem) just as I passed them on to you.
Thus you invalidate the word of God with your tradition (paradosei | παραδόσει | dat sg fem) that you have handed down. And you do many similar things.”
And he said to them, “You are clever at setting aside the command of God in order to establish your own tradition (paradosin | παράδοσιν | acc sg fem).
