You are looking at outward (prosōpon | πρόσωπον | acc sg neut) appearances. If anyone has persuaded himself that he belongs to Christ, he should remind himself that just as he belongs to Christ, so also do we.
Now I, Paul myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ — I who when present (prosōpon | πρόσωπον | acc sg neut) am “timid” among you, but when away am “bold” toward you.
For we are not again recommending ourselves to you but giving you an occasion to boast on our behalf, so that you may be able to answer those who boast of what is seen (prosōpō | προσώπῳ | dat sg neut) and not of what is in the heart.
For it is the God who said, “Out of darkness light will shine,” who has flooded our hearts with the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face (prosōpō | προσώπῳ | dat sg neut) of Christ.
And we all, with unveiled faces (prosōpō | προσώπῳ | dat sg neut), beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, just as from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face (prosōpon | πρόσωπον | acc sg neut) so that the sons of Israel would not gaze at the end of what was fading away.
Now if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with such glory that the Israelites were unable to gaze steadily into the face (prosōpon | πρόσωπον | acc sg neut) of Moses due to the glory of his face (prosōpou | προσώπου | gen sg neut), fading as it was,
Now the one to whom you forgive anything, I also do the same; for indeed, what I have forgiven — if I have forgiven anything — I did so for your benefit in the presence (prosōpō | προσώπῳ | dat sg neut) of Christ,
as you also join in helping us by prayer, so that thanks may be given by many people (prosōpōn | προσώπων | gen pl neut) on our behalf for the gracious gift granted to us through the help of many.
