But when they had stretched him out for the lash, Paul said to the centurion standing by, “Is it lawful for (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) to flog a man who is a Roman citizen and uncondemned?”
“I am a Jewish man, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, educated according to the strictness of the ancestral law, being zealous for God just as you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) all are today.
In all this I have shown you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) that by working in this way you must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
And now I commend you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Even from among your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl masc2nd) own group will men arise, speaking distortions of the truth, to draw the disciples away after them.
Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has placed you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own Son.
