Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles to abstain from desires of the flesh (sarkikōn | σαρκικῶν | gen pl fem), which wage war against your soul,

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh (sarkika | σαρκικά | nom pl neut), but are empowered by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments

For our confidence is this, the testimony of our conscience, that with simplicity and sincerity like that of God, and not with earthly (sarkikē | σαρκικῇ | dat sg fem) wisdom but by the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.
