By this the Holy Spirit is showing that the way into the real sanctuary had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tent (skēnēs | σκηνῆς | gen sg fem) was standing.
When these things had been prepared in this way, the priests used to enter regularly into the outer room (skēnēn | σκηνήν | acc sg fem) to perform their ritual services;
For a tent (skēnē | σκηνή | nom sg fem) was set up. The outer room, in which were the lampstand and the table and the consecrated bread, was called “the Holy Place.”
The place where they serve is a shadowy suggestion of the heavenly sanctuary, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle (skēnēn | σκηνήν | acc sg fem); for he said, “See that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tent (skēnēn | σκηνήν | acc sg fem) of David, which has fallen, and I will rebuild the ruins of it, and I will restore it,
“The tabernacle (skēnē | σκηνή | nom sg fem) of witness was with our fathers in the wilderness just as the one who spoke to Moses ordered him to make it according to the pattern he had seen.
You took along the shrine (skēnēn | σκηνήν | acc sg fem) of Moloch and the star of your god Rephan, the images that you made, to worship them, so I will make you move beyond Babylon.’
And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal homes (skēnas | σκηνάς | acc pl fem).
