Yet it is a new commandment that I write to you, one that is true in him and in you, because the darkness (skotia | σκοτία | nom sg fem) is passing away and the true light is already shining.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness (skotia | σκοτίᾳ | dat sg fem), but will have the light of life.”
got into a boat and started across the sea to Capernaum. It had by then become dark (skotia | σκοτία | nom sg fem), and Jesus had not yet come to them.
All that you said in the darkness (skotia | σκοτίᾳ | dat sg fem) will be heard in the light, and what you said in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
