and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as a fig tree (sykē | συκῆ | nom sg fem) drops its winter fruit when shaken by a fierce wind.

My brothers, can a fig tree (sykē | συκῆ | nom sg fem) produce olives, or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring supply fresh water.

Jesus responded, saying to him, “Is it because I told you that I saw you under the fig (sykēs | συκῆς | gen sg fem) tree that you believe? You will see greater things than that.”

Nathanael asked him, “How did you get to know me?” Jesus answered him, saying, “Before Philip called you, while you were still under the fig (sykēn | συκῆν | acc sg fem) tree, I saw you.”

And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig (sykēn | συκῆν | acc sg fem) tree, and all the trees.

And he said to the vineyard worker, ‘Look, for three years now, I have come looking for fruit on this fig (sykē | συκῇ | dat sg fem) tree, and I find none. Remove it. Why should it use up the soil?’

Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig (sykēn | συκῆν | acc sg fem) tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.

“Now from the fig (sykēs | συκῆς | gen sg fem) tree learn its parable: As soon as its bough becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.

And thinking back, Peter said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig (sykē | συκῆ | nom sg fem) tree that you cursed has withered!”

And passing by in the morning, they saw the fig (sykēn | συκῆν | acc sg fem) tree withered down to the roots.
