Love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) is patient, love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) is kind, it does not envy. Love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) does not brag, it is not arrogant,

If I give away everything I own, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love (agapēn | ἀγάπην | acc sg fem), it benefits me nothing.

And if I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love (agapēn | ἀγάπην | acc sg fem), I am nothing.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love (agapēn | ἀγάπην | acc sg fem), I am a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

Now concerning food sacrificed to idols: we know that “we all have knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) builds up.

What would you prefer? Shall I come to you with a rod of correction or with love (agapē | ἀγάπῃ | dat sg fem) in a spirit of gentleness?

Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love (agapēs | ἀγάπης | gen sg fem) of the Spirit, to join me in fervent prayer to God on my behalf,

if your brother is being hurt by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love (agapēn | ἀγάπην | acc sg fem). Do not destroy by what you eat that brother for whom Christ died.

Love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) is the fulfillment of the law.

Let love (agapē | ἀγάπη | nom sg fem) be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
