A third time he spoke to them, “What evil did this man do? I have found in him no guilt (aition | αἴτιον | acc sg neut) deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.”

and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was trying to mislead the people. And indeed, having examined him in your presence, I found no basis (aition | αἴτιον | acc sg neut) for your charges against this man.

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge (aition | αἴτιον | acc sg neut) against this man.”

For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one origin. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,

This testimony is true, for which reason (aitian | αἰτίαν | acc sg fem) rebuke them sharply, so that they may be healthy in the faith,

for which reason (aitian | αἰτίαν | acc sg fem) even I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know in whom I have trusted and I am fully convinced that he is able to guard my deposit until that day.

They examined me and wanted to release me, because there was no basis (aitian | αἰτίαν | acc sg fem) for a death sentence against me.

For it seems unreasonable to me, in sending a prisoner, not to report the charges (aitias | αἰτίας | acc pl fem) against him.”
