And when he was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when are these things to take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and the consummation of the age?” (aiōnos | αἰῶνος | gen sg masc)
And seeing a fig tree by the road, he went over to it and found nothing on it except leaves only. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” (aiōna | αἰῶνα | acc sg masc) And at once the fig tree withered away.
As for the one who was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the message, but worldly (aiōnos | αἰῶνος | gen sg masc) anxiety and the deception of wealth choke the message and it becomes unfruitful.
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, neither in this age (aiōni | αἰῶνι | dat sg masc) nor in the age (aiōni | αἰῶνι | dat sg masc) to come.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives (aichmalōtois | αἰχμαλώτοις | dat pl masc) and recovery of sight to the blind, to send the oppressed away in liberty,
For some of these are creeping into the homes and capturing (aichmalōtizontes | αἰχμαλωτίζοντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc) weak women who have been burdened with sins, being led astray by various passions,
and every lofty idea that is raised against the knowledge of God, and we take captive (aichmalōtizontes | αἰχμαλωτίζοντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc) every thought to make it obey Christ.
