For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not indeed you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd)?

For we wanted to come to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) — I, Paul, time and again — but Satan hindered us.

As for us, brothers, when we were separated from you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) for a short time — in person but not in heart — we were all the more eager, with intense longing, to see you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) in person.

For you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd), brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judea; because you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) too suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews,

And for this reason we also constantly thank God, that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it truly is, the word of God, which even now is doing its work in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) who believe.

So we exhorted you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), encouraged you, and charged you to conduct yourselves (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) in a manner worthy of God, who calls you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) into his own kingdom and glory.

how, as you know, we treated each one of you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) as a father would treat his own children.

You (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) are witnesses, and so is God, how devout, upright, and blameless was our conduct toward you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) believers —

For you recall, brothers, our labor and toil. We worked night and day so as not to become a burden to any of you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd), while proclaiming to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) the gospel of God.

So deep was our affection for you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) that we were pleased to share with you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) not only the gospel of God but our own selves as well, so dear had you become to us.
