Bethany was near Jerusalem, about (hōs | ὡς | particle) two miles away,

So when (hōs | ὡς | conj) he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed where he was for two more days.

When (hōs | ὡς | conj) they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “The man among you without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

However, when (hōs | ὡς | conj) his brothers had gone up to the festival, then Jesus himself also went up, not openly, but as (hōs | ὡς | particle) it were, in private.

When they had rowed about (hōs | ὡς | particle) three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the lake and approaching the boat, and they were terrified.

When (hōs | ὡς | conj) therefore the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them. He stayed there for two days.

Jacob’s well was there. So Jesus, weary from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about (hōs | ὡς | particle) the sixth hour.
