For our appeal (paraklēsis | παράκλησις | nom sg fem) was not based on deceit, nor did it rise from impure motives or by way of trickery,

So if there is any encouragement (paraklēsis | παράκλησις | nom sg fem) in Christ, if any comfort from love, if any fellowship in the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

because he not only accepted our request (paraklēsin | παράκλησιν | acc sg fem), but being very eager and acting on his own initiative, he is on his way to you.

begging us with great insistence (paraklēseōs | παρακλήσεως | gen sg fem) for the privilege of joining in this ministry to the saints.

Because of this we are encouraged. And in addition to our own encouragement (paraklēsei | παρακλήσει | dat sg fem), we rejoiced more than ever at the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.

And not only by his arrival but also by the encouragement (paraklēsei | παρακλήσει | dat sg fem) with which he was encouraged by you, as he reported to us your strong affection, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

I have great confidence in you; I take great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement (paraklēsei | παρακλήσει | dat sg fem); I am overflowing with joy in all our distress.

And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our encouragement (paraklēseōs | παρακλήσεως | gen sg fem).

If we are distressed, it is for your encouragement (paraklēseōs | παρακλήσεως | gen sg fem) and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement (paraklēseōs | παρακλήσεως | gen sg fem) that you experience in your patient endurance of the same sufferings that we also suffer.

For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also does the encouragement (paraklēsis | παράκλησις | nom sg fem) we receive through Christ overflow.
