But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will bring in (pareisaxousin | παρεισάξουσιν | fut act ind 3 pl) destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.

The beast that you saw was, and now is not, but is about to rise from the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, will be astounded when they see the beast, because he was and is not, but is to come (parestai | παρέσται | fut mid ind 3 sg).

Therefore I intend to keep on reminding you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth that you now have (parousē | παρούσῃ | pres act ptcp dat sg fem).

For the one who does (parestin | πάρεστιν | pres act ind 3 sg) not have (parestin | πάρεστιν | pres act ind 3 sg) these qualities is blind; he is nearsighted, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his past sins.

Your conduct must be free from the love of money, and be content with what you have (parousin | παροῦσιν | pres act ptcp dat pl neut); for God himself has said, “I will never leave you; never will I forsake you.”

All discipline at the time (paron | παρόν | pres act ptcp acc sg neut) seems not to be pleasant, but painful; but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

which has come (parontos | παρόντος | pres act ptcp gen sg neut) to you. Just as in the entire world it is bearing fruit and growing, so also is it among you from the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth;

I wish I could be (pareinai | παρεῖναι | pres act inf ) with you now and change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.

Now to be zealous for a good purpose is always good, not just when I am present (pareinai | παρεῖναι | pres act inf ) with you.

Therefore I write these things while I am absent, so that when I am present (parōn | παρών | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) I may not have to treat you harshly according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not tearing down.
