Be careful, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil (ponēra | πονηρά | nom sg fem), unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

The Lord will rescue me from every evil (ponērou | πονηροῦ | gen sg neut) deed and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory in the ages of ages, Amen.

while wicked (ponēroi | πονηροί | nom pl masc) people and impostors will advance from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

he is puffed up with conceit, understanding nothing, but has a sickly craving for speculations and fights about words out of which come envy, strife, slanders, evil (ponērai | πονηραί | nom pl fem) suspicions,

But the Lord is faithful; he will establish you and guard you from the evil one (ponērou | πονηροῦ | gen sg masc).

Pray also that we may be delivered from unprincipled and wicked (ponērōn | πονηρῶν | gen pl masc) men; for not all belong to the faith.

abstain from evil (ponērou | πονηροῦ | gen sg neut) of every kind.

And you who were at one time who were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil (ponērois | πονηροῖς | dat pl neut) deeds,

and besides all these, by taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil (ponērou | πονηροῦ | gen sg masc) one.

Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil (ponēra | πονηρᾷ | dat sg fem) day, and having done everything, to stand.
