And when day came, the council of elders (presbyterion | πρεσβυτέριον | nom sg neut) of the people was assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they had Jesus brought into their council chamber

for which I am an ambassador (presbeuō | πρεσβεύω | pres act ind 1 sg) in chains. Pray that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Therefore we (presbeuomen | πρεσβεύομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) are (presbeuomen | πρεσβεύομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) ambassadors (presbeuomen | πρεσβεύομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) for Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, “Be reconciled to God.”

But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation (presbeian | πρεσβείαν | acc sg fem) after him, saying, ‘We do not want this person to rule over us.’

And if not, while he is yet a great way off, he will send a delegation (presbeian | πρεσβείαν | acc sg fem) and ask for terms of peace.

For such a high priest was (eprepen | ἔπρεπεν | imperf act ind 3 sg) appropriate (eprepen | ἔπρεπεν | imperf act ind 3 sg) for us, one who is holy, innocent, undefiled; having been separated from sinners, he became exalted above the heavens.

For it was appropriate (eprepen | ἔπρεπεν | imperf act ind 3 sg) that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the champion of their salvation perfect through suffering.

But you, speak what is fitting (prepei | πρέπει | pres act ind 3 sg) for healthy teaching.

but with what is appropriate (prepei | πρέπει | pres act ind 3 sg) for women who are committed to godliness, namely, with good deeds.

But sexual immorality and every kind of impurity or covetousness must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper (prepei | πρέπει | pres act ind 3 sg) among the saints;
