So Jesus also suffered outside the city (pylēs | πύλης | gen sg fem) gate (pylēs | πύλης | gen sg fem) in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.

And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate (pylēs | πύλης | gen sg fem) to the riverside, where we thought there would be a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had gathered there.

When they had passed the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate (pylēn | πύλην | acc sg fem) that leads into the city, which of its own accord opened for them, and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel left him.

but their plot was made known to Saul. They kept close watch on the gates (pylas | πύλας | acc pl fem) day and night so that they might kill him;

And I say to you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates (pylai | πύλαι | nom pl fem) of Hades will not overpower it.

How narrow is the gate (pylē | πύλη | nom sg fem) and difficult the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it!

“Enter through the narrow gate (pylēs | πύλης | gen sg fem). For wide is the gate (pylē | πύλη | nom sg fem) and easy the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it.

So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box (pykteuō | πυκτεύω | pres act ind 1 sg) like one flailing the air.
