At this time Jesus was filled with joy by the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise (sophōn | σοφῶν | gen pl masc) and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was well-pleasing in your sight.

Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise (sophous | σοφούς | acc pl masc) men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town,

At that time Jesus declared, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise (sophōn | σοφῶν | gen pl masc) and clever and revealed them to little children;

For we did not follow cunningly crafted (sesophismenois | σεσοφισμένοις | perf pass ptcp dat pl masc) stories when we made known to you the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings, which are able to (sophisai | σοφίσαι | aor act inf ) make (sophisai | σοφίσαι | aor act inf ) you wise (sophisai | σοφίσαι | aor act inf ) for salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus.

“This calls for a mind with wisdom (sophian | σοφίαν | acc sg fem). The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings:

This calls for wisdom: (sophia | σοφία | nom sg fem) let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

saying, “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom (sophia | σοφία | nom sg fem) and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom (sophian | σοφίαν | acc sg fem) and might and honor and glory and praise!”

And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as also our dear brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom (sophian | σοφίαν | acc sg fem) given to him,
