Therefore, my brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), be all the more eager to confirm your call and election. For by doing these things you will never come to ruin.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother (adelphou | ἀδελφοῦ | gen sg masc) as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.
Above all, my brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath. Rather let your “Yes” be yes and your “No,” no, so that you may not fall under judgment.
Be patient, therefore, dear friends (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), until the coming of the Lord. Note how the farmer waits for the precious harvest of the earth, being patient for it until it receives the early and latter rains.
Do not speak against one another, my brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc). Whoever speaks against a brother (adelphou | ἀδελφοῦ | gen sg masc) or judges his brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc), speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.
