remember that at that time you were apart from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God (atheoi | ἄθεοι | nom pl masc) in the world.
For the time already gone by is enough for you to have done what the pagans like to do, carrying on in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and disgusting (athemitois | ἀθεμίτοις | dat pl fem) worship of idols.
And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful (athemiton | ἀθέμιτον | nom sg neut) it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another race, but God showed me that I should call no person common or unclean.
the only one having immortality (athanasian | ἀθανασίαν | acc sg fem), the one dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no person has seen or is able to see, to him be honor and might forever, Amen.
So when this perishable body puts on imperishability, and this mortal body puts on immortality (athanasian | ἀθανασίαν | acc sg fem), then the saying that is written will be fulfilled: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl on the air (aera | ἀέρα | acc sg masc), and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
He opened the shaft of the abyss, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a giant furnace, and the sun and the air (aēr | ἀήρ | nom sg masc) were darkened with smoke from the shaft.
Then we who are alive, who remain behind, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air (aera | ἀέρα | acc sg masc). And so we will be forever with the Lord.
