Consequently the one who rejects (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) this is (athetei | ἀθετεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) not rejecting (athetei | ἀθετεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) man, but God, who also has given his Holy Spirit to you.
To speak in human terms, brothers: even though a covenant is one made by man, yet when it has been ratified, no one can set it aside (athetei | ἀθετεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) or add anything to it.
I (athetō | ἀθετῶ | pres act ind 1 sg) do (athetō | ἀθετῶ | pres act ind 1 sg) not nullify (athetō | ἀθετῶ | pres act ind 1 sg) the grace of God; for if righteousness could be gained through the law, then Christ died for nothing!
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the shrewdness of the intelligent I will thwart.” (athetēsō | ἀθετήσω | fut act ind 1 sg)
The one who rejects (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him at the last day.
“The one who listens to you listens to me, and the one who rejects (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) you rejects (athetei | ἀθετεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) me, and the one (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) who (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) rejects (athetōn | ἀθετῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) me rejects (athetei | ἀθετεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) the one who sent me.”
but the Pharisees and the lawyers (those who had not been baptized by John) rejected (ēthetēsan | ἠθέτησαν | aor act ind 3 pl) the purpose of God for themselves.
And he said to them, “You (atheteite | ἀθετεῖτε | pres act ind 2 pl) are (atheteite | ἀθετεῖτε | pres act ind 2 pl) clever at setting (atheteite | ἀθετεῖτε | pres act ind 2 pl) aside the command of God in order to establish your own tradition.
