Acts 27:40 So they cut loose the anchors, left them in the sea, and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders (pēdaliōn | πηδαλίων | gen pl neut). Then hoisting the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.
James 3:4 Or consider ships: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder (pēdaliou | πηδαλίου | gen sg neut), wherever the impulse of the pilot directs.
