Definition

the palm tree, the date palm, Jn. 12:13; Rev. 7:9. Identical in form to the word meaning phoenix, the Egyptian bird.*

John 12:13	took branches of palm (phoinikōn \| φοινίκων \| gen pl masc) trees and went out to meet him. They began to cry out, “Hosanna! Blessed in the name of the Lord is the coming one, even the king of Israel!”
