antichrist, an opposer of Christ, 1 Jn. 2:18, 22; 4:3; 2 Jn. 7; plural in 1 Jn. 2:18*

1 John 2:18	My children, it is the last hour! And just as you heard that the Antichrist (antichristos \| ἀντίχριστος \| nom sg masc) would come, even now many antichrists (antichristoi \| ἀντίχριστοι \| nom pl masc) have appeared. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
1 John 2:22	Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This one is the Antichrist (antichristos \| ἀντίχριστος \| nom sg masc), the one who denies the Father and the Son.
