Upon seeing Jesus, Herod was very glad, since for a long time he had been wanting to see him, because of what he had heard about him, and he was hoping to see some miraculous sign done by (hyp | ὑπ᾿ | prep-gen) him.
They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive to all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
For just as the lightning, when it flashes, lights up from one end (hypo | ὑπό | prep-acc) of heaven to the other (hyp | ὑπ᾿ | prep-acc), so will be the Son of Man in his day.
Having been asked by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, saying, “The kingdom of God will not come with observation.
“When you are invited by (hypo | ὑπό | prep-gen) someone to a wedding feast, do not take a seat in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you may have been invited by (hyp | ὑπ᾿ | prep-gen) your host,
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to it! How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under (hypo | ὑπό | prep-acc) her wings, and you did not want it!
