This, dear friends, is now the second letter I have written to you (in both of them I have been trying to arouse your pure minds with a reminder) (hypomnēsei | ὑπομνήσει | dat sg fem)
because I remember (hypomnēsin | ὑπόμνησιν | acc sg fem) your sincere faith, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am confident that it is also in you.
Now I want to remind (hypomnēsai | ὑπομνῆσαι | aor act inf ) you, though you once knew all this, that the Lord, having saved his people out of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
For this reason, should I come, I will bring up (hypomnēsō | ὑπομνήσω | fut act ind 1 sg) the things he is doing, disparaging us with malicious talk. And not satisfied with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers. He even prevents those who would like to and puts them out of the church.
Therefore I intend to keep on reminding (hypomimnēskein | ὑπομιμνῄσκειν | pres act inf ) you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth that you now have.
Remind (hypomimnēske | ὑπομίμνῃσκε | pres act imperative 2 sg) them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any good work,
Remind (hypomimnēske | ὑπομίμνῃσκε | pres act imperative 2 sg) them of these things, solemnly charging them before God not to continue fighting about words, which results in nothing beneficial but only in the ruin of those listening.
But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will instruct you regarding all things, and cause you to remember (hypomnēsei | ὑπομνήσει | fut act ind 3 sg) everything that I have told you.
Then the Lord turned and looked at Peter, and Peter remembered (hypemnēsthē | ὑπεμνήσθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) the word of the Lord that he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”
