And when he returns to his house, would he not call together his friends (philous | φίλους | acc pl masc) and his neighbors, and say to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost’?
Then he also said to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner do not invite your friends (philous | φίλους | acc pl masc), or your brothers, or or rich neighbors, in case they also invite you in return, and there would be a repayment to you.
Rather, when you are invited, go and recline in the least important place so that when the one who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend (phile | φίλε | voc sg masc), move up higher!’ Then you will have glory in the presence of all who are reclining at table with you.
