The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light (phōtos | φωτός | gen sg neut).

All that you said in the darkness will be heard in the light (phōti | φωτί | dat sg neut), and what you said in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Therefore consider whether the ‘light’ (phōs | φῶς | nom sg neut) that is in you is not darkness.

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a vault or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in can see the light (phōs | φῶς | acc sg neut).

“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a container or puts it under a bed, but places it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light (phōs | φῶς | acc sg neut).

a light (phōs | φῶς | acc sg neut) for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory for your people Israel.”

And Peter followed him from a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest, and he was sitting with the officers and warming himself at the fire (phōs | φῶς | acc sg neut).

What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light (phōti | φωτί | dat sg neut); and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops.

but if your eye is evil, your whole body will be filled with darkness. If then the light (phōs | φῶς | nom sg neut) that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
