I know that you always hear me, but I said this for the sake of the crowd (ochlon | ὄχλον | acc sg masc) standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
The Pharisees heard the crowd (ochlou | ὄχλου | gen sg masc) secretly discussing these things about Jesus, so the chief priests and Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.
Yet many of the crowd (ochlou | ὄχλου | gen sg masc) believed in him, saying, “When the Christ comes, he will not perform more miraculous signs than this man has, will he?”
And there was a lot of secret discussion about him among the crowds (ochlois | ὄχλοις | dat pl masc); some were saying, “He is a good man,” but others were saying, “No, to the contrary, he is leading people (ochlon | ὄχλον | acc sg masc) astray.”
So when the crowd (ochlos | ὄχλος | nom sg masc) realized that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
On the next day the crowd (ochlos | ὄχλος | nom sg masc) was standing on the other side of the lake. They knew that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not gotten into the boat with his disciples, but that the disciples had left without him.
