The king was furious! He sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem) to the ground.

In the morning, as he was returning to the city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem), he became hungry.

And leaving them, he went out of the city (poleōs | πόλεως | gen sg fem) to Bethany and spent the night there.

And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city (polis | πόλις | nom sg fem) was in turmoil, asking, “Who is this?”

Now when Jesus heard about John, he left there by boat to a deserted place to be alone; but when the crowds heard about it, they followed him on foot from the towns (poleōn | πόλεων | gen pl fem).

But he knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to ruin, and no city (polis | πόλις | nom sg fem) or house divided against itself will stand.

Then he began to reprimand the towns (poleis | πόλεις | acc pl fem) in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:

Now when Jesus had finished giving instructions to his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and proclaim his message in their towns (polesin | πόλεσιν | dat pl fem).

When they persecute you in one town (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem), flee to another; for I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through all the towns (poleis | πόλεις | acc pl fem) of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem) that town (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem).
