Now when Jesus heard about John, he left there by boat to a deserted place to be alone; but when the crowds heard about it, they followed him on foot from the towns (poleōn | πόλεων | gen pl fem).
But he knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to ruin, and no city (polis | πόλις | nom sg fem) or house divided against itself will stand.
Now when Jesus had finished giving instructions to his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and proclaim his message in their towns (polesin | πόλεσιν | dat pl fem).
When they persecute you in one town (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem), flee to another; for I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through all the towns (poleis | πόλεις | acc pl fem) of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem) that town (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem).
