and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city (polis | πόλις | nom sg fem) of that district of Macedonia, a Roman colony. We remained in that city (polei | πόλει | dat sg fem) for several days.
As they went through the cities (poleis | πόλεις | acc pl fem), they delivered to them for observance the decrees that had been decided on by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem.
And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us return indeed and visit the brothers in every city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem) in which we announced the word of the Lord to see how they are.”
For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem) those who proclaim him, because he is read aloud in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
After they had preached the good news in that city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem) and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, then on to Iconium and to Antioch,
But when the disciples gathered around him, he got up and went into the city (polin | πόλιν | acc sg fem); and on the following day he set off with Barnabas for Derbe.
But there came Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowd they stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city (poleōs | πόλεως | gen sg fem), thinking him to be dead.
The priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city (poleōs | πόλεως | gen sg fem), brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to offer sacrifice along with the crowds.
