But in truth I tell you, there were many (pollai | πολλαί | nom pl fem) widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, as a great famine spread throughout the whole land;

And he said to them, “Collect no more (pleon | πλέον | acc sg neut comparative) than what has been prescribed for you.”

Now there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity,

(and a sword will pierce your own soul also), that thoughts of many (pollōn | πολλῶν | gen pl fem) hearts may be revealed.”

Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Take note, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many (pollōn | πολλῶν | gen pl masc) in Israel, and for a sign that will be opposed

and he will restore many (pollous | πολλούς | acc pl masc) of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God.

And for you there will be joy and gladness, and many (polloi | πολλοί | nom pl masc) will rejoice because of his birth,

Inasmuch as many (polloi | πολλοί | nom pl masc) have taken it in hand to compile a narrative concerning the things that have been accomplished among us,

who, when he was in Galilee, used to follow him and care for his needs; and many (pollai | πολλαί | nom pl fem) other women were there who had come up with him to Jerusalem.
