So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc) and he said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
Which of the prophets (prophētōn | προφητῶν | gen pl masc) did not your fathers persecute? They killed those who announced beforehand concerning the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers!
But God turned away and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: (prophētōn | προφητῶν | gen pl masc) ‘Did you bring to me slain beasts and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘God will raise up a prophet (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc) for you from among your brothers, as he raised up me.’
You are the sons of the prophets (prophētōn | προφητῶν | gen pl masc) and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’
Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc) from among your brothers, as he raised me. You must obey him in all things whatsoever he speaks to you.
