If anyone does not abide in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; men gather them and throw them into the fire (pyr | πῦρ | acc sg neut), and they are burned.
Seeing this, his disciples James and John said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire (pyr | πῦρ | acc sg neut) to come down from heaven and consume them?”
His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his granary; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” (pyri | πυρί | dat sg neut)
John gave an answer to all, saying, “I indeed baptize you with water, but there is coming one who is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandals. He it is who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire (pyri | πυρί | dat sg neut).
Indeed, already the axe is laid to the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire (pyr | πῦρ | acc sg neut).
